divã

interactive installation artwork

With the provocative question "what concerns you about equity and diversity in forms of care?", divã is a collaborative work that aims to build, together with the audience of the Innovation Week, a reflection on equity and diversity in care. The work presents itself not only as a space for reflection but also as a space for listening and welcoming, crossing the boundary of the individual by bringing theirs concerns to life alongside those of the collective in a space of collective knowledge construction.

Using an audio capture device and another for capturing texts and images, the work provokes active reflection from the audience, while simultaneously feeding back into that reflection by blending the various inputs in an immersive and interactive room that creates a semi-chaotic environment. In this space, the texts and images produced by the audience are displayed, while de lighting and audios - also recorded by the audience - are controlled by the interaction of the attendees with the texts and images.

Generic Artistic Installation

divã was conceived as an artistic installation that can be executed with different provocative questions, generating completely different reflections and results. However, the central point, in all possible editions, is the space for welcoming and listening.

Interactive Poetics Experimentation

The installation is the first concrete case in which the proposal of my doctoral thesis of reusing algorithms for interactive poetics experimentation is put into practice. divã uses the same algorithm of materia animata, however, with a completely different proposal. The idea proposed in the doctoral thesis is that artists could reuse parameterizable preprogrammed algorithms to produce relevant and novel artwork, while experimenting with interactive poetics.
